How to build confidence?

Have you ever given up on something because you weren’t sure you could do it? Maybe it was about changing jobs, applying for a task, or maybe a handsome guy at the club that you were ashamed of approaching?

Have you ever given up something because you lacked confidence?

Sometimes. I often thought that someone would do a better job than me, that I was not smart enough, smart, pretty, funny – I was always in some way insufficient. In the end I realized that it was not about me at all, but about my way of thinking. I wasn’t at all sufficient, I just THOUGHT that I was. I lacked confidence!

Now, when I work as a dancer, I often see these internal fears and insecurities in the girls who report to me: pretty, smiling, intelligent, and yet self-doubtful. Where do these doubts come from?

Self-confidence or what?

Confidence is not something you are born with – It is something that develops over the years. The people and the environment you are in affect how you are. This means that self confidence can be learned. And today I will give you some tips that will tell you how to do it with the help of dance.

What distinguishes novice dancers from the experienced is their body awareness. New girls are often unable to show sensuality and adapt their movements to the rhythm set by the music. And this is not due to a lack of ability, but a lack of confidence. At dance workshops, incl. that’s what I’m working on with them.

How to start building confidence through dance?

So if you also do not feel confident, start at home, relaxed, in front of the mirror. Turn on your favorite music, put on sexy underwear and start moving. Pay attention to what your body looks like, what specific movements you make and how you feel – just watch yourself. Remember: nobody is watching. 🙂

Only when you discover what actually causes your shyness, embarrassment or uncertainty will you be able to start working on changing these feelings. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that “I’m not good enough.” I went through this stage and I do not recommend it to anyone. Learning sensual dance has helped me develop confidence – it made me learn it. If I managed – you can too! 🙂

Remember that to become a good dancer you do not have to be above average trained or stretched. This is not about spectacular revolutions or acrobatics, but about emphasizing your femininity: in a sensual and decisive way. Dance is a great way to open up and gain step by step confidence. Every day I see how my team dancers do it.
